JANE CRAIGIE OF THE UNITED KINGDOM WINS INTERNATIONAL PRIZE FOR SUSTAINABLE FARMING PODCAST
INTERLAKEN, Switzerland (August 15, 2024)—Jane Craigie, owner of Jane Craigie Marketing in the United Kingdom was recognized by the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) with its Star Prize for Audio, the organization’s honor for the best audio broadcast in its worldwide competition. The award was announced at IFAJ’s World Congress in Interlaken, Switzerland, on August 15.
Craigie’s podcast, “Sustainable Farming: In Cities, Cotton and For Nature” is part of an ongoing podcast series, Science Behind Your Salad, sponsored by BASF Agricultural Solutions. Judges described the winning episode as a “beautifully crafted piece with engaging on-site sound and well-conducted interview. Atmospheric use of sound. Two strong, separate stories with excellent interviewees.”
Trevor Bacque of Canada was honored with a runner-up Star Prize for his “Farm Succession Planning: Experience and Advice” podcast episode.
Judges of the Audio category included documentary filmmaker Ian Petrie, retired from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation; Ken Rundle of Scottish Agricultural College; and freelancer and former Australian Broadcasting Corporation journalist Prue Adams.
