Eager to board flights and particularly enthusiastic about expanding knowledge on a global scale, the chance to attend the International Dairy Federation 2023 World Dairy Summit was a dream come true!
Thanks to support from IFAJ/IDF/Cniel and my day-job WelFarm, I headed to Chicago in October, a lavish 16-hour direct flight from Auckland, New Zealand. And got to get alongside world-leading experts to absorb as much dairy (knowledge and deliciousness!) as possible.
Along with the 1200 attendees from all over the world, we got to hear from a multitude of specialists talking about all parts of the supply chain. The more I learn about IDF’s work the more supportive I am and keen to be involved.
There was no lack of content opportunities, every presentation, every speaker, every session was full of powerful messaging and stories that farmers and the rural sector all over the world would find interesting.
Next year the summit is in France, Chile in 2025, then New Zealand in 2026. I highly recommend if you have any involvement in dairy to try get along to any or all! You won’t be disappointed.
